Frequently Asked Questions

The SOCES PTSA is a non-profit membership organization of parents, teachers, students, and community members who strive to better the lives of the Sherman Oaks CES Students. We are part of a national association organized at the local, state, and national levels. By joining your local PTSA, you are automatically a member of the state and national associations. The PTSA is the largest child advocacy volunteer organization which speaks for the interest of all children and their safety, health, welfare, and education.

The SOCES Booster Club is locally managed and governed by by the parents, teachers, and friends of SOCES. While the student and family remain at the forefront of all decisions, the primary focus of the Booster Club is to raise money for school programs that are not included in the school budget; to encourage parents and staff to volunteer, and to support our school and your children!

What should you do? You should participate in both. We are a TEAM and together we make great things happen! Of course, the MOST IMPORTANT THING is to sign up to be an LAUSD volunteer and to visit Seta in the Parent Center!
